by Shui-Wen Chang Chien, Yuan-Sheng Chang, Shou-Hung Chen and Wei-Jyun Chien*
    IJESP 2024, Vol 4, Issue 2, 1-7, https://doi.org/10.35745/ijesp2024v04.02.0001 - Published on May 20, 2024

    Abstract

The Mailiao Town is a traditional agricultural community, located in the south-central region of Taiwan. In this region, the northeast monsoon is entrained with salt for seven months a year. Soil fertility test results between 2011 and 2021 showed that the tillage soil was alkaline and salinized. The content of total nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium in the soil were mostly excessive. In the region, open-air continuous farming with heavy fertilizer has been performe...

Coupling and Coordination of Implicit Land Use and Ecological Security in Huaihe River Basin, China

by Jie Wang, Hongwen Xu* and Ying Zhou
    IJESP 2024, Vol 4, Issue 2, 8-15, https://doi.org/10.35745/ijesp2024v04.02.0002 - Published on May 20, 2024

    Abstract

The Huai River Basin is located in Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Hubei, and Henan provinces of China. We explored the spatiotemporal characteristics and their changes in the ecological security and the form index of implicit land use using an equivalent factor method and a coupling coordination model. The coupling coordination between land use and ecological security was explored by evaluating the transformation of implicit land use. It was important to optimize the spatial pattern of the Huai River...

Effects of Electric Current on Performance of Bio-hydrogen Production

by Chung-Fu Huang, Tong Yin, Ting Zhang, An-Chi Huang*, Ting-Wei Jang and Terng-Jou Wan
    IJESP 2024, Vol 4, Issue 2, 25-31, https://doi.org/10.35745/ijesp2024v04.02.0004 - Published on May 22, 2024

    Abstract

Fermentation is the most beneficial process for hydrogen (H2) production. The previous studies were mostly focused on medium, microorganisms, pH control, temperature, and hydraulic retention time. In this study, we used electric current to measure the H2 production rate and its concentration. We observed the microorganism morphology to determine the effect of electric current on the microorganism growth state. The results showed the range of H2 production rate and its concentration were 1,200−1,...
